The National park of Timanfaya Lanzarote is a unique volcanic field. It has over 180 different plant species and is a platform for biological research. It is worth a visit if only to experience the vastness of this landscape.

National Park of Timanfaya

Visitors can view the impressive volcanic habit and a guide will show you the rare forms of life that dwell here as well as the many geological wonders.

The mountains at the heart of this park are called the Montañas del fuego. One can eat at the Restaurant del Diablo, on Islote de Hilario, where they cook meat over a volcano-powered bar-b-q.

On the eastern edge of the park, you will find the Museo de las Rocas, a small geological museum, and to the north, the Mancha Blanca Visiter Centre

El Grifo Wine Musuem Lanzarote

The El Grifo wine museum is surrounded by vineyards and is a fine example of local architecture, with thick walls made of volcanic rock and long wooden beams supporting the ceiling.

One can observe the evolution of wine making equipment, such as ancient pumps, presses and bottling tools as well as laboratory equipment.

There is also a shop selling wines and gifts and the museum often gives courses on wine appreciation and tastings of local wines.
