Lanzarote Playa Blanca

Lanzarote Playa Blanca is situated in the southernmost tip of Lanzarote, in the municipality of Yaiza. It was once a small fishing village and now it is a popular holiday resort.

It has a picturesque promenade packed with restaurants, along which runs a golden beach that leads to the harbour. Facilities on the beach include rental of sports equipment, hammocks, parking and wheelchair access.

Punta de Papagayo Lanzarote

In the southern tip of Lanzarote, Punta de Papagayo comprises of a series of bays and coves with crystal clear waters and a landscape of volcanic ash.

The coves are small with white sands and are reached by a dirt road. In this sense they are a bit difficult to get to but are worth the effort.

Many people practise nudism in this area.

Janubio Lanzarote

Janubio is on the south-west coast of Lanzarote, in the picturesque town of Salinas de Janubio.

This is a unique beach in that it is 820m of black sand which forms a spectacular contrast with the blue/green of the Atlantic Ocean.

Janubio is well worth seeing, however, it is not recommended to swim

Puerto del Carmen Lanzarote

Further north along the coast from Playa Blanca, is another very popular resort called Puerto del Carmen.

This region is covered in whitewashed houses that face the natural port of La Tiñosa, the old fishing village which gave rise to the present resort.

One can take a boat from the port and visit one of the other islands.

Puerto del Carmen has 6km of golden beaches, with many sporting facilities such as scuba diving and windsurfing.
